Leaping... Looking up!

I have danced for about 14 years of my life. Since the beginning one of the fundimental skills I learned was how to leap. As a little girl my dance teacher would have us leap over records that were layed side by side on the floor. The goal was to jump over as many as possible and go as far as you could. Then by the time I was a varsity Belle, and senior in high school, the goal of our leaps were to get as high as possible with as much leg extension as possible. Although the expectations changed over the years, one critical element always stayed the same, "When you leap ALWAYS look up!"

Now as an adult I find myself learning to leap again. I have quit my current job in order to take a leap of faith and try to get my teaching certificate in order to teach special-ed. For the first time in a while I don't know what the future holds. All I know is a am going to try my best with my Savior and my family by my side I am taking the first steps towards my dreams. My heart is with this "special" community and I know I am destined to reach these people. I learn more from them than I could probably ever teach them. As I take these first steps I am just holding on to the wisdom I have gotten ever since I was a little three-year-old ballerina... "Always look up when you leap... and you will go higher and farther than you ever thought possible." There will be no looking down from here...:)

Fierce Competition

When Kyle and I first met, he made me feel like there was no other girl in the world. He would tell me that I was perfect for him and that no other girl could compare to me. Well fast forward to almost two years of marriage and my "best girl" title is in jeopardy. Every thing was great until February 1, 2008, then she came along! Four paws and two floppy ears stole Kyle's heart. Oh come on you really didn't think a REAL woman could have taken Kyle away from me did you? No other woman in the world would put up with his Arkansas Razorback obsession. Just kidding, but that boy sure is a fan. Lucy Belle Peters slid in under the radar and melted my man. She is Kyle's first dog and I am just glad she came along AFTER we were married or I may never have had a chance:) They are best buddies and one of the cutest pairs I have ever seen. My jealousy has subsided, that is as long as they continue to let me sleep in the same bed with them. Here's some evidence that he's in love...

Keep scratching Daddy...

First day of Puppy school... You're staying with me right, Daddy?

Mommy are you sleeping in here again?

Daddy this snow stuff is cold...

Go ahead mess with me, but my Daddy is watching you...

Driving Daddy to the Dog Park

Daddy was so proud of me on graduation day... I DID IT DADDY:)

If Daddy loves 'em, then I love 'em too... GO HOGS

Why walk when you have a Daddy...

Rockin our Razorback gear for an evening walk.

Daddy's lap is the best place to relax.

Jealous Mommy?!?!

Oh yes right there.

When I am sick Daddy watches Dogtown with me. He always makes me feel better.

Nothing can ever seperate us Daddy

Kyle has assured me he has enough love for both of us. So far he has been right:) Now if we have a daughter one day I am afraid Lucy and I may both be losing the "best girl" title... but we know Kyle will never ever quit loving any of us.

Birthday Boys

This week is a big week for my family. We have two very special birthdays. My Precious and wonderful husband Kyle will be 24 on April 23rd, and my best buddy Easton Zane will be 2 on April 26. These two boys bring more joy and happiness to my life than I ever thought was possible. Celebrating for each birthday boy will be a little bit different though. Kyle and I will probably have a quiet dinner at one of his favorite restaurants and then end the evening cuddling with Lucy. Not for Easton though, he really knows how to party. Saturday we will be in full circus mode for Easton's circus spectacular birthday bash at Rory Galloway park in Mesquite. Bounce houses, face painting, and clowns galore. I just hope uncle kyle doesn't push and shove in the bounce house. He can be a real bully sometimes:) I look forward to celebrating both of their beautiful lives this weekend. God has richly blessed me by placing them both in my life. However, I only hope that maturity comes with age since the birthday boys were both caught "clowning around this weekend...

I pray that neither of them ever lose the ability to light up my life... I'm not worried!!!!

Quiet Times and PAWlitics

I am sure that all of you have a morning routine. The same is true in the Peters house.Every morning things start stirring around in the Peters' house between 6:30-6:45. Kyle takes Lucy done and I start the daunting task of trying to make myself look nice for the day. The night's are not kind to my look. When I finally decide that "this is as good as it is going to get," I go into the den and ALWAYS find the same thing. Kyle and Lucy are in "their chair" eating toast. OK so Kyle is eating and Lucy is on crumb patrol. They are watching Fox News and Lucy is glued to the TV. She is quite concerned about the economy, and she is not so sure if she should sell her PetsMart stock or not:) Then without fail they have their quite time, I have mine in the evening. Lucy will lay on the foot stool between Kyle's legs as still as can be almost as if she understands the importance of what her Daddy is doing. This truly is a special thing for me to see every morning. My husband and spiritual leader refusing to begin his day without seeking council form the Lord, and his best friend and sidekick laying quietly at his feet:) I tried to take a picture of this sweet scene this morning, but as soon as Lucy heard me say picture... she jumped down and sat pretty.

Oh well... But isn't she pretty!

P.S. Kyle and I had a very busy weekend and decided it would be best for Lucy if she went to the Pet Hotel. She always has a blast there and her PAWgress reports always reflect a happy baby (yes those reports are real if your dog stays at PetsMart.) Hopefully I will be able to elaborate on out weekend later:) However I had to share this picture of my Pooped pup from her Big weekend with friends at the Hotel... she crashed.
